Eligibility

  • The Ed Darby Foundation will only consider granting funds to qualified 501©3 public charities or public educational institutions. Individuals cannot apply for grants.

  • The Foundation will generally not consider civic action groups, after-the-fact grants, immigration/refugee issues, political/voter education, private schools, or religious institutions in their grant funding. Application requests for dinners, runs/walks, fundraising events, or fundraisers are also not eligible. Special exceptions can be made if the organization directly serves the mission of the Ed Darby Foundation.

  • Grantees must report the impact of funds given by the Ed Darby Foundation. Impact reporting must be submitted at the end of a program. For example, if the funding was for a summer program, the report is due at the end of the summer, similarly for a semester or annual program. If the grant is for general operating funds, the impact report is due no more than a year following receipt of the funds. Organizations will not be reminded or notified to submit an impact report. Failure to submit impact forms will hinder an organization’s ability to receive future grants.

  • The Foundation will not provide grants for lobbying.

  • The Foundation does not provide loans.

  • The Ed Darby Foundation has the right to waive or withdraw from any grants at any time.
